Dorothy S Towhey (nee Snyder) of Mount Laurel passed away quietly on September 21st. She was 89. Dorothy was born April 26, 1934 in Harrisburg, PA, to the late Herbert Snyder and Genevieve Snyder (nee Greene). Beloved wife to the late William J Towhey and loving mother to Laurie Valvardy (Patrick) and William Towhey (Patsie). Cherished grandmother to Patrick Jr., Candace, and Shawn Valvardy. Hannah and Aidan Towhey. Great- grandmother to Piper.
Dorothy was big sister to Herbert Snyder (Leslie), the late Darla Snyder and Lois Schneider (Lee) all of Arizona as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy grew up in both Clymer Pa and Philadelphia PA where she met her love, Bill. They married in July 1954 and made their home in Hainesport NJ. Dot was very active in the Hainesport Ladies Auxiliary. Once her children were grown, Dot and Bill made Tuckerton their home. There she volunteered her time for the Tuckerton Beach Association (TBA), the Tuckerton Baymen Museum, the Tuckerton Seaport and Habitat for Humanity.
Dot loved her time by the water, she would swim in the lagoon, and ride her bike often. She spent hours defying Solitaire but was also a fierce card player with others. She was an avid bowler and loved Pokino with her friends.
No one could match her ability to coupon. She would return home with six bags of groceries, and have the store pay her to shop there.
Dot enjoyed hosting neighbors for visits with good conversation. Those visits with her will be missed by family and friends.
Services will be private.

Dear Laurie and Bill,
I am so sorry for your loss. I just keep thinking about how happy my mom is to welcome her to heaven. They had so much fun together when we were little. It will take a while to get used to your new normal, but you need to remember that she’s in a better place, with your dad!
Love,
Steve and Peggie
