How to Maintain Your Cremation Urn

1. Granite
Granite is a popular material for urns. It’s sturdy but porous and can stain easily if not cleaned properly. You can purchase granite cleaner from a supply store or use mild dish soap and warm water. Then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
2. Wood
Wooden urns are usually carved from mahogany or oak and are relatively easy to care for. The wood is often finished with a sealant or paint to protect it from moisture.
Use soapy water to clean the outside of the urn, then rub it with a soft rag to remove any remaining dirt or stains. You can also use furniture polish on the outside of wooden urns every few months to keep them looking shiny and new.
